We stayed at Fumba for seven nights after a safari in Kenya and two nights at Victoria Falls. It was a fantastic experience as we have never stayed in a such a decadent location before. The room, a suite with its own 'private' beach just a stride away, blew us away. When we first entered the room it was littered... more

What a find! Absolutely idyllic. It is pretty isolated from the rest of Zanzibar. It’s a real stretch to call the town of Fumba a town. The resort starts with the office where the manager Natasha, a South African, is usually the one who greets you sometimes with her wonderful dog Simba. Going straight from the welcome building you hit... more

Having lived in Zanzibar for some time now, I have been to a number of hotels, resortd, bugalows and guest houses, and this is by far the best one i've found. With the intamacy of a guest house with the luxuary of a top noch hotel. me and my family loved it. more

Wow! Stunning location, the only hotel on unspoilt Fumba Beach. Individual lodges nestled in amongst the trees 5m from the beach. Awesomely massive Baobab tree around which is the sun deck and bar, and which houses the Bush Baby's who come down for fruit around sunset. Dining area and lounge really well designed and furnished, swimming pool and sun loungers... more

We have just returned from a two week stay in Zanzibar ending at the lovely Fumba Lodge... I am surprised by the last few reviews - we found Fumba to be a true piece of paradise. True the rooms are simply furnished, but stylish. The hotel's location is idyllic, complete with beautiful and stylish furnishings throughout the communal areas, hidden... more

We chose this location as the 2nd part of our honeymoon, having spent a week in Tanzania on safaria. We wanted a chill-out relaxed week in paradise. Initial reactions were fantastic, staff very welcoming, room simple but very nice. Amazing views to the beach/sea. We had a sea-view bungalow, which we could walk onto the beach in about 5 seconds... more

We had high expectations for Fumba, as we had read such fantastic reviews, however, when we arrived we were very disappointing. The reception area was dark and needed to be cleaned. The receptionist didn't even look up to say hello to us. We asked to see our room before we settled in. We are a family of 4 with 2... more

My wife and myself went on honeymoon to zanzibar in june 2008. After staying in some marginal places we arrived at this little piece of heaven called Fumba beach lodge. Run and owned by Edwin and Natasjha and supported by an incredibly professional and friendly crew we where spoiled rotten. The attention to detail and the unbelievable service truly made... more

We stayed here for 5 nights early in March, just at the end of the high season. Don’t go later because March and April are the rainy season. If you look for quiet, unassuming seaside accommodation in a tropical setting, this is the place for you. The beach is not great but this is compensated by the fact that you... more

Charles Roelen, Rotterdam, Holland. Tel: [--]or k.roelen@gmail.com During the summer of 2007 in the month of june, we had reservated Fumba Beach Lodge for one week after having climbed the kilimanjaro. Unfortunately, our daughter became ill and we had to cancel the trip. Fumba Beach seems to be very nice, like we have read the many reviews and photo's. Because... more
