My husband, 22 month old baby and I stayed here from the 29th of July to the 5th of August. I could agree with some of the previous comments. Overall the hotel was good, but there could be some improvements. To begin with, the people at reception could be more friendlier, or could at least say hello or goodbye when... more

NO Lighting when other rooms had light (this was only in 102 because I went into other rooms as customers became friends). I want to know why my room was the only one without light. I asked the front desk about this and the lady said she can have someone come at 12 noon and install lighting. How the heck... more

I loved the rooms, great beds, has safe and modern coffee machine in rooms. Great location so within easy walking distance of the beach or Lincoln road, etc. My stay here was great. Traveling alone, the hotel made sure I was in good hands. Everyone at the front desk were very helpful, very nice, and very informative on the area.... more

Overall a very disappointing stay. A simple hello at reception when returning or leaving the hotel would go a long way. The one time you actually need help from the Valet/Bell boy, they chose not to help with our bags, this occurred when we were checking out. On trying to retrieve our car from the Valet, I had to wait... more

Our stay at the Metropole was a real mixed bag. While waiting to register we overhead a guest who was incredulous that there wasn't a hotel umbrella he could borrow, and that this was not a 5 start hotel but rather a 2 star. Not an auspicious beginning. Once we got our room keys, no one showed us up to... more

The reviews said this was a 5 star hotel. As we were checking in, in the pouring rain, a gentleman guest inquired at the front desk if they had a "hotel umbrella". No. He was not happy. "What kind of 5 star hotel is this that doesn't have an umbrella?" He shook his head and left. We were left negotiating... more

Stayed here June 28/29 and was pleasantly surprised with this place! This was my first trip to south beach and perusing tons of hotel reviews and pics online can be a pretty daunting task! The room you get is actually a suite, since you have a full kitchen, small dining area, a lounging area (sofa, ipod deck, large flat screen... more

I stayed at the Metropole for 2 nights. The good: kitchen w/ refrigerator, microwave, stove, received help with luggage from almost halfway down the block - The bad: dim lighting, toilet didn't work, slippery pavement (when wet), dirty carpet in hallway. The brightest lights in the room were in the kitchen and in the bathroom. When I arrived at the... more

This is one of the several South Beach Group hotels. It was an excellent price, especially considering the location. Its not on the beach, but its 1.5 blocks away from downtown South Beach. Unless you stay in a shady hotel, you are going to pay at LEAST $100 a night in South Beach. Heck, some of the shady hotels in... more
