Travelers beware of units in the "G" building at this "resort." We were given unit G22 and immediately upon opening the door were horrified. The carpet was filty and ripped. We can't wait to go back. We stayed at one of the quieter studios at the Galleon, and it was very nice. Quiet, affordable (for Key West) and the location was perfect. Close enough to walk to Duval Street, Mallory Square, and great shopping. Family friendly! more

Our family had the opportunity to stay at the Galleon Resort And Marina the week before Christmas 2006. First impression-TERRIBLE! Major construction going on, no way to get to lobby/check-in area that we could see upon arrival. One construction worker told us (and all of our luggage) to go under yellow tape and around huge crane, when we did another one reprimanded us, this as 3 employees stood behind the front desk and watched. This was our 4th time this year @ Galleon and as allways its just perfect. The location is not far from Duval but yet far enough away that its nice and peacefull and quite. I highly recomend a room overlooking the pool side for you get to see more of the open ocean and the boats comming in & out... more
