I had a bad feeling as soon as we pulled into the parking lot, but the rest of Durango was booked. Dirty, ripped carpet, block & paneled walls. Bathroom was tiny and not very clean w/ no exhaust fan. Upstairs loft was excruciatingly hot with no way to ventilate. I was apprehensive about pulling back the sheets, but bed was... more

I booked a room for 3 nights for my husband and I who are in our 60's. I didn't like the looks of the place when we pulled up and had the good sense to ask to see the room before we paid for 3 nights. It was a DUMP and I refused to stay there. Desk clerk assured us... more

Lots of past reviewers have slammed this hotel. We just spent two nights there, and found it to be quite average, even above average in certain areas. The staff were all young(er) people, and quite friendly, although not too knowledgeable about local things and activities. The room was very clean, had new carpeting, and was reasonably quiet. We booked a... more

When we arrived at the hotel there was no one to be found. After standing around for 15 minutes a woman finally walked through the door and started folding her laundry. When we asked how to check in she made no attempt to hide the inconvenience it was to her to check us in. Our room was clean and a... more

This was an average place to stay in my opinion. Nothing fancy, but not any more expensive than everything else in the Durango area. Convenient location to town and nice view of the Durango/Silverton train. Worked just fine for my family of 4, but did get a little warm in the upstairs loft until it cooled off at night. more

We arrived on 12/20 and stayed thru 6 a.m. on 12/22. The room did not have a coffee machine. This was not the major problem.....believe me! We left our room at 6:00 a.m. to check out for our ski lessons at Purgatory Mountain. There was no one in the office to check us out, nor did anyone answer the extension... more

We booked through a reservation company. The room was filthy, and there were holes in the walls. The Tub didn't drain while showering. After being there for an hour, our socks were filthy and we vowed to wear shoes for the remainder of the stay. Keep in mind this is probably the result of the train passangers, the train is... more

Stayed one night over Father's Day weekend '07. The room was clean and neat. The carpet was overdue for replacement. There was a king bed on the main floor and two queens in a loft area. The loft was extremely hot. There were 2 small loft windows which provided little airflow. I appreciate the room had a mini-fridge and microwave.... more

Disappointed is how to put it best. For $149/nite for a room with a poor layout, worn - threadbare grease stained carpet, rocking toilet & missing TV Remote is too much. Was able to get a room 4 miles away with all the amenities for 1/2 the cost. Nice pictures on the Internet are deceptive. BEWARE! more

We (a group of seven backpackers) choose this place because of the space and price. It is a no frills establishment, decently clean and very quiet (except when the train comes by). It is outside of town, but is along the Durango public transit route. Come early for the breakfast as things seemed to run out fast. Our bedding, bathrooms... more
