We went here the beginning of our vacation as I am a 9 month recovering bone marrow transplant survivor. Tahoe Sands Resort website is extremely misleading and we were greatly disappointed. Lady at front desk was only turning point of the place, she was very helpful. We were scheduled to stay for a week, but canceled after one night!! This... more

We love this place! private beach, pool, kayaking! We loved it so much we only left the resort 2 times in a week! We stayed in a cabin right on the beach! Most beautiful view! The staff was very friendly and helpful! The resort is very family orientated! my kids said over a hundred times that this was their best... more

We just returned from 3 days at North Lake Tahoe with our two young grandsons, 7 & 11. We wanted a getaway that was not too long a drive but made us feel like we were on vacation! This section of the lake has a much different flavor than the hustle and bustle of the busy, commercialized, casino areas. We... more

I like this place! My family and I have stayed here many times in the past and find it perfect for us. Yes, it is outdated, but it has the charm of an old family-style resort. The resort provides sports equiptment, has a happy hour, and on Sundays provides a nice breakfast. There is tons of room for the kids... more

Our family of 4 had previously bid for and won a weeks stay here through a charity auction. But after the fact, and having read mostly negative reviews, our family was a bit apprehensive about the stay. While we did encounter some issues, I did not find the property as disfavorable as some of the prior reviewers. Some of the... more

Last year at this time we checked into one of the cabins at the so-called resort. My wife and I were joined by a field mouse who came through a sizeable hole behind the toilet in the bathroom. I had to plug the hole myself because the maintenance people never bothered to show up when I called to report the... more

This has to be the WORST resort in the entire North Lake Tahoe area. Let me count the ways: a) The heater did not work in the bedroom and the cabin bedroom was like being in an icebox and like an oven in the living room (where the only operable heater was). The heater was SO loud you couldn't hear... more

The pictures on the website are incredibly misleading. Our room wasn't cleaned, dirty dishes were left in the sink, hair on the bathroom floor, wet towels on the chairs. Customer service was terrible, they never cleaned up the room. Our stay was terrible, the rooms were very poor quality and extremely small. We had to put our bed up every... more

We stayed at this resort for one night. We drove from California and wanted to stay somewhere quiet without paying a fortune. To sum it up, The lake is beautiful, the cabins however do need some updating -the furniture and fixtures in our cabin have seen better days. The 2 pools were not so nice. We would stay somewhere else... more

This 'resort' is very family oriented. My family and I have stayed here three times and have had a wonderful experience. We have stayed across the street in a one bedroom, on the lakeside in a one bedroom and in a studio. (in fact last week we moved three times to stay at this property) We find the Sands to... more
