We just had a lovely stay at this hotel! The hotel is gorgeous, and the staff was professional and attentive. We had a coastal view room on the 6th floor, and the view of the ocean was beautiful. Half Moon Bay is often overcast, and the green golf course next to the overcast ocean reminded me of Scotland - and... more

We booked the hotel the same night we wanted to stay there, and got a discount for late check-in and an upgrade because it was our last night in the US. The staff is excellent and the service perfect. It's definitely the best hotel i've stayed in. The rooms are SO nice. We got a room on the ground floor... more

I've stayed at this hotel numerous times in the past 3 years since it's my favorite place to stay while in Nor Cal. I can't think of a better day than having breakfast to the sight and sound of the Pacific ocean in the morning, a round of golf in the afternoon and sipping a glass of wine by the... more

Outstanding property. This secluded resort is a great escape after the crowds of the city. Short, easy drive down the coast and you're in Half Moon Bay, a charming small town. Imagine Carmel without the hype and crowds and about 1/8 the size. We found the restaurant moderately priced and worth trying if you're there for several nights. Try the... more

We celebrated my birthday with a weekend at the Ritz. Only an hour away from San Francisco, it felt a world away, with its beautiful grand hotel property, lushly landscaped golf course, and of course amazing views of the crashing Pacific waves. We did not get a firepit room (the premium for a firepit and terrace was just too difficult... more

I recently returned from leading an eight man golf trip to Half Moon Bay and The Lodge at Pebble Beach. In thinking back over the trip, it is hard to find fault with any aspect of the experience. The Ritz Carlton at Half Moon Bay is a stunningly beautiful property, sitting atop a cliff and looming over the two adjacent... more

I stayed at the Ritz Carlton on Memorial Day Weekend. You would think staying at a hotel mid week would be more relaxing as there would not be a big crowd. The positives: Great views, ambiance, and location. I cannot complain about the cleanliness of the room, as I found it to be just fine. I would agree that the... more

Last weekend I stayed at the RC Half Moon Bay on a stay and play package that I extended for another night and upgraded to a club-level oceanview room. First the good stuff. The location and layout of the hotel was great. The hotel was super close to downtown (for those who want to eat or shop outside the resort)... more

Caught a serious fungal infection in the spa, wife had "worst massage ever" there for $198 including tip and the spa staff didn't even know the details on their own facility. They need new management down there. The windows in our room were so dirty we could hardly see though them. All in all a memorable Mother's Day w/end. more

Not my favorite Ritz. A key problem that travelers should be aware of is that the nicest rooms - the ones with the firepits (some are suites) - are right next to a golf course and paths. So people walk by your room all the time and can see you! It is not at all private. You do get a... more
