I didn't know what to expect, having stayed at a Best Western the last time I was in Sedona in 1997. This place was a huge surprise. Fabulous rooms, fabulous food, ambience, and interpersonal contact with other guests and the proprietors. I highly recommend El Portal Sedona! Their website is terrific and hugely accurate. What a gem! Stayed several nights here at this small exquisite inn and yearn to return. We had reservations elsewhere and decided that the rooms weren't as they seemed on website so we happened onto this spot. And what a stroke of luck! Im not sure I would have come here if I were searching on the web because no... more

My wife & I recently spent an evening at this lovely and enchanting inn. We couldn't have been more pleased! From the beginning to the end of our short stay, we were treated with warmth and graciousness. Don't miss an opportunity to spent some special time at El Portal! more

I travel quite often and El Portal is, by far, the nicest place I have ever stayed. It is hard to know where to begin.... the room, the dinner, the breakfast, the location, the owners, and the staff were all outstanding. We arrived on May 30 (a perfect time of year in Sedona) and stayed for three nights. If we... more

We really enjoyed our stay at El Potal from 4/28-5/1/2008. The ambience is that of a peaceful retreat, even though it is located very centrally. The rooms were charming and comfortable. The restaurant served great breakfasts every morning. The owner Steve Segner could not have been more helpful and accomodating. The Wednesday night barbecue is not to be missed. This... more

Sedona is a place of beauty, and the El Portal is a perfect compliment to that beauty. Our room (Arts & Crafts room #4) was absolutely fantastic. We were not at all interested in a big tv or room service or amenties such as that; if you are, you might not say the same. We had a fireplace, and very... more

I was serching for accomodations in Sedona for months. I spent time on trip advisor and blogs etc for hours! This was a special trip for my husbands 50th birthday so it needed to be right. We travel frequently but had never been to Sedona..I am picky about hotels! If you are considering a stay in Sedona you must check... more

We stayed at El Portal April 14th - 16th. It was a truly beautiful place to stay. Sort of like a unique B&B, but without free breakfast. The rooms are beautiful, and unique as is the entire Inn. The owner was fascinating to talk to, and El Portal added positive memories to our first ever visit to Sedona. more

I was staying in Scottsdale and took a day trip to the Grand Canyon, we decided to stop in Sedona and stay overnight. I saw El Portal on their website and decided it looked interesting. That is was, and so much more. From the moment you pull up, to the friendly staff, & the beautiful and clean rooms. Everyhting was... more

This place is not for everyone....and I am so glad!!! If you are looking for cookie cutter "Hilton or Hyattesque" decor and service then don't come here. If you want first class amazing service, attention to detail, great food, a chance to make really great friends, and an absolutely wonderful location than this is the place for you. First to... more
