The place was beautiful, clean, and had hot showers and clean beds. The breakfasts are amazing with fresh fruits, juice, huge pancakes, and eggs and included in the room prices. The prices are moderate and the location is great. Wonderful views of the waterfall and walking distance to everything a tourist needs in the city. The entire city is walkable.... more

The highlight of our stay was the food. Wonderful breakfasts, which filled us for the day. The owners source all their food locally and everything is made from scratch (we even obseved the de-coring of blackberries for fruit juices!) Rooms okay but a little on the small side, bathroom was a little grotty and required some repairs, hot water intermittent. The American owners of this property do themselves no favours, they seem as though guests are an inconvenience to them at times, and can be less than helpful. The Posada del Arte is a restored home on a quiet side street in Banos near the waterfall. The house is filled with art from local artists, and has a comfortable layout. We stayed 2 nights here. It is a beautiful small hotel. It is decorated with all types of artwork and colorfully painted walls. It is owned by Americans and they were very helpful. They can help you set up bike excursions or any other activities. The food was great and they had the best breakfasts included in their room rate.... more
