As soon as my husband and I walked in the smell hit us both. It smelled like there was a flood and the carpet had not been replaced. It smelled like mildew. This smell carried throughout all of the common areas but surprisingly our room was odor free. The room appeared clean on the surface but some of the towels... more

We went there for our wedding anniversary weekend. All of the hotels were booked out so we took a chance and stayed at this HOJO...what a mistake...the first room that they gave us smelled like cigarettes even though it was a non-smoking room. They gave us another room down the hall from it, this room had a hole in the... more

We went to Atlantic CIty on short notice in October and stayed at the Howard Johnson Inn on Tennessee and Pacific. The room was very clean and the location was convenient for us - close to the casinos and the boardwalk which was fun. The desk clerks (I think one of their names was Thomas) were very helpful. The hotel... more

This was my worst hotel experience in my 32 years. We paid $257 for one night which would have been okay except for the fact that it was in one of the worst neighborhoods in AC. The parking was ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS!!! They jammed the cars 3 in a row and had to keep your keys. When we got to the... more

Terrible hotel, not at all as portrayed. The carpet in the halls was worn, the first room I was given opened on to a covered pass-way rather than the outdoors. The elderly black gentleman at the desk was curteous and moved me to a different room. The pool did exist, but was only open from 10 AM to 8 PM,... more

The hotel was average.. Nothing really exciting but it was clean and for the most part quiet. I don't know why people gave it such bad reviews. I actually enjoyed my stay and I would return if on a budget. The only problem I did have was the very long 2 blocks to Boardwalk and having to pass the people... more

If at all possible, I recommend staying in a casino when in Atlantic City, however, this hotel will do if that's not an option. I booked midweek for a Saturday in June when all the casinos were sold out or prohibitively expensive. It's basically a three-floor motel with basic amenities. Nothing fancy at all, but fairly clean (except for a... more

This place is a great home base while exporing the casinos. It's one block from Bally's, four blocks from the Trump Taj Mahal, and four blocks the other way from the Tropicana. Parking is free, staff is friendly. I will definitely stay here again. Clean rooms are a great place to crash after a night on the town and you... more

I have definitely stayed in worse. My girlfriend and I wanted to do a cheap economical trip to Atlantic City. The Howard Johnson was the cheapest hotel in the city that was at least a part of a chain. The room was clean. Our view was horrible. Our view was of a hallway in the building so that people could... more
