My fiance is Nicaraguan and we have been looking for places to have our wedding reception. We saw pictures of La Abuela and thought it would be perfect so we went to the resort to check it out. While the place is very pretty, the service was absolutely awful. We ordered some fruit juices and some tostones con queso. 45... more

This small bed and breakfast ([--]) located in Managua, Nicaragua (Villa Fontana) became my center of operations to visit all of Nicaragua. Unlike most bed and breakfast places I have been, I actually enjoyed staying at the Hostal La Abuela because I felt welcomed like family. Also the food and the service was excellent and they have everything modern. more

I wanted a bed and breakfast hostel in Managua, Nicaragua and a friend recommended this location for my stay in September 07.. Frankly I selected it because the price was right. It was not easy to find a bed a breakfast location in Managua since they do not advertise themselves in any manner as far as I can tell. But... more
