This hotel is fine for a day, maybe two, but there are better places in town. The room was fine, kind of small, the view was nice, but the place is a little dark and dingy and in need of an upgrade. The food was ok, nothing great, and the service was fine. It's a large place, seems to be... more

I stayed here with a group for a weekend. The positives: Beautiful lake view Nice lounge area with fireplace-lots of drinks and snacks available throughout the day and into the night Many breakfast options Calm and quiet in the rooms Nice bathrooms held laptops behind the front desk for security pleasant staff The negatives: Room smelled musty Pushy, loud obnoxious... more

Our travel agent in Australia booked our room and it was very good. A high level, corner room with a wonderful view of the lake. Only had breakfast in the hotel and it was average but not much service from the staff. We ate in the town and had good food there. Swam in the indoor pool but showers and... more

Santiago travel agent booked my wife and me for 3 nights at this Puerto Varas Hotel. Based on Tripadvisor reviews, I specifically asked for a room in the new section of the hotel. We were placed in the old section in the smallest room I have ever seen, one floor above the main entrance, with its window overlooking the entrance,... more

Other reviewers advised to stay in the new part of the hotel but that was at a substantially higher rate than our travel agent booked us at. The room was small, no AC and construction jack hammers were blasting 10 feet from our room at 3:00pm when we were taking a nap. I believe this was only temporary and not... more

The shower are made for local "mapuches" that are shorter than 5.5in. The hotel has a new area and an old area. Make sure you stay on a Executive suite which is a basic international suite, otherwise you may fall to the catacombs of the very old area. The bathroom and the bed were too small. more

Hotel is nice, has both newer and better rooms and an older wing. Most have lake views. Hotel restaurant bad. There are many nice restaurants in the area. Maitre'd not helpful and food bland, bad, and cheap. Even frozen peas can be made even worse buy this kitchen! Desk staff nice, but not very knowledgable. Hotel very clean and comfortable,... more

This is probably the nicest hotel in Puerto Varas, situated on a hill overlooking the lake and the snowcapped volcanoes in the distance. We stayed one night, and had a drink as we watched a group of windsurfers gear up and take off across the lake as the sun sank in the west. The room was large with two Queen-sized... more

We stayed in this hotel for one night on 19 February after the Lake crossing from Bariloche. Our bedroom had a wonderful view of the lake. The bedroom and bathroom were both very dated and shabby and in need of updating, though both were clean and the bed comfortable. We had a reasonable dinner in the dining room but had... more

We stayed at Cabanas del Lago for one night following a lake crossing from Bariloche. We arrived at 8p.m. and had to leave at 8 a.m. the following day, but I do have a few impressions. What we liked: the view, the attractive room with all amenites, the pleasant staff, the food. What we did not like: service in the... more
