We stayed for 3 nights at the Fairmont Singapore on our way to Bali. We initially booked the hotel when it was still called the Raffles Plaza. Very old hotel, that clearly needs a fresh-up. Interior design and furniture were old and in 80s colours. Good facilities and very good location, but everything from breakfast room, pool & room, left us feeling dissapointed, we expected more from a chain like Fairmont. more

When I made my hotel reservations, this hotel was originally called Raffles Plaza Hotel. I had wanted to stay at a Raffles chain but could afford the original Raffles so decided to book at the Plaza. Stayed at this property several times when it was the Raffles Plaza, and was a little concerned to read on TripAdvisor that since converting to a Fairmont, the level of attention and service had deteriorated. It was probably inevitable after successive climates of Dubai, Egypt and Venice that the "slight cold" would develop into bronchial asthma.
