Actual physical location could not be more idyllic. The peninsula makes it very private and provides a stunning view of the river and the Hippo Pools. 2008年1月に夫婦で2泊しました。 Masai Maraは4回目です。今年は前日までTalek 川沿いのBASE CAMPに宿泊し、Masai Maraの最後は少し豪華なロッジにしようと思い、保護区の北にあるこのロッジに宿泊してみました。Mara川沿いに６つのテント式の客室があります。「これがテント？」と思えるぐらい部屋は広く、開放的なつくりです。電気は時間制限がありますがデジカメの充電などはテント内で可能です。トイレとシャワールームが別で暖かいシャワーもGOOD!バスローブもあります。 また、無料のランドリー・サービスもあります。（アイロンなしです） テントの前のテラスからカバが見ることができます。いつもではないですがCocodileの昼寝も見ることができます。川の向こうはブッシュで動物たちをみることは難しく、テラスの右手（西側）は山が迫っています。 部屋から広大なサバンナを見たい人には物足りなさがあるかもしれません。私が滞在した1月はまだ開発中で、客室もこれから増えていくようです。 ロッジ内の移動にはロッジ専属のレンジャーの付き添いが必要となります。私たちが滞在した、No.1テントの奥にヒッポ・プールがあり、カバの大群が群がっておりました。レンジャーの許可をもらって川辺近くまで降りることができます。ただ、Crocodileもいますので注意が必要です。 昼食はヒッポプールの近くやエントランス近くの川沿いでの野外ランチになります。夜も焚き火を囲み、野外で食事でした。食事はなんといってもお肉料理がおいしかった。他のものは普通といったところ。 ロッジ内にはサバンナ・モンキーが沢山います。昼はビュッフェ式なのでスタッフがいなくなったスキを見て食事を狙っていました。 ゲーム・サファリでは初日に、メスライオンと沢山のお子様ライオン、チーターの親子、ヒョウの親子と連続してみることができ、大変満足でした。また、白サイを飼育しているKOYIAKIという私設保護区施設に立ち寄り、サイと記念撮影が可能でした。マサイマラの北のエリアは木々も多く、保護区内とは少し違った雰囲気で、私は結構気に入っています。 ゲーム・サファリは客の好みにあわせてアレンジしてくれるので事前に交渉するのがよいでしょう。最終日は午後4時のフライトでしたが、チェックアウト後もスタッフの配慮で出発まで部屋でのんびりできました。 more
