We did not pick this hotel, but we were pleased with our rooms and service and the lovely breakfast buffet (better than the King David Hotel, where we stayed for a week, in Jerusalem) overlooking the beach. Our tour company picked the hotel, and it looked kind of grim from the outside, and the lobby is nothing special. But!, we... more

This review is for the time period from August 9th through the 15th, 2006. My husband and I went on a tour of Israel during the Second War With Lebannon. Because the war was on-going, our stay was limited to Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. I was disappointed since we were unable to see the north, but I must confess, that... more

I stayed at this hotel on a visit to Israel with my dad in November 2005. The hotel's tiny lobby might seem discouraging, but I greatly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Our room was large (at least by Israeli standards) and we had a good city view from our 13th floor room. We had a good radio/CD player in... more

Despite our first very warm night with a non working air conditioning system, after our move to another room I found I enjoyed the Carlton. I was regretting not booking the giant Hilton next door but our beach access was almost as good and I liked the quieter atmosphere of our hotel. We were very comfortably located on the beach... more

We stayed at the Carlton Tel Aviv for 2 nights. We paid $310 for each room which seems to be less than the average rate listed here. However, for $310 we got a standard room overlooking the ugly concrete area described by another reviewer. Our balcony was useless as the room overlooked a busy street, run down apartments and the... more

The staff is friendly, the location fantastic, and the view nice. I splurged for a Royal Executive room. It was nice. Not amazing, but nice. My only complaint (and it bugs the hell out of me) is that they charge $18/day for wireless internet. When will hotels learn that nickel and diming your customers is no way to get repeat... more

I stayed for one night at the Carlton. I had a room on the 11th floor. Breakfast was OK but nothing special. Room was good but not outstanding. Staff were helpful. However to say it is better than say the Hilton where I also stayed during my visit is plain wrong. more

Stayed here as part of our Isram Tours package. We stayed in one of the Royal Floor rooms, which allows access to the Royal Lounge. The lounge serves snacks all day long, including an open bar after 4 PM. We made extensive use of the lounge on the days we were there. The rooms were bright and airy, all with... more

This hotel is well situated, and has good staff, and comfortable and well appointed rooms. While it has been spruced up, it could still do with a little more but it looks as though that's already in hand. It's close to the City Centre and also a few minutes walk from the buzzy Tel Aviv Port area. Only negatives were... more
