Settha Palace is perhaps the best Hotel in Vientiane. It is a colonial residence nicely restored in the middle of the city and at walking distance to most of the landmarks. The rooms are large, comfortable and well decorated and the bathrooms clean and modern. However since it is a wooden building, it can be a bit noisy at night.... more

Recently spend 3 nights at the Settha Palace. Wonderful 'old colonial 'style with spacious gardens/pool. Bedrooms are spacious with good quality furniture. Bathrooms very clean. Breakfast has good range of options although breakfast staff were very slow both in replenishing breakfast foods and clearing tables. Settha Palace Hotel was a nice, clean, colonial-style hotel, close to the centre of Vientiane. Language was a bit of an issue, but it was nothing we couldn’t overcome. Expect mosquitoes in your room; bring a repellant device (we had a plug-in that seemed to work fine). The city is small; all sights were within walking distance from the hotel.... more

We stayed here for 2 nights in December 2007 and wished we had stayed longer. What can I say about this hotel - superb decor, fantastic pool, great bar, great restaurant! Staying here was a highlight. It feels like Raffles (Singapore) on a smaller and more intimate scale. If you are going to Vientiane stay here! more
