Stayed one night at the end of our honeymoon in Namibia. The hotel itself is on a nice elevated site over the city and is fairly basic in terms of the rooms. They are nice but don't expect the Ritz. For me what stood out was the standard of the food in the restaurant and watching the sun going down... more

Stayed here for 1 night, prior to going on a tour of Namibia. If you go in expecting European or even South African standards, or think of the top Relais & Châteaux properties, then you'll be disappointed. However, this is the best hotel in Windhoek by a mile. Location is good, on a hill overlooking the city. You can walk... more

Stayed here for 1 night during a 3 week trip to Namibia and south Africa. The room was spacious and well appointed. The Hotel's terrace is great and we had both lunch and a sundowner there. We had to leave the hotel at 6am to catch an early flight but they organised a wake call with coffee brought to the room at 530am... more

First time in Namibia, spent our first night and the last two nights in the country there. Considered it an outstanding place - nicely situated on a hill overlooking Windhoek, allthough not well placed as a base to do sightseeing on foot; the room and grounds nice and a superb restaurant and great terrace. Food was excellent as well as... more

We stayed here for one night on our last day in Windhoek and chose it because it has the Relais Chateaux grading....what a disappointment! The rooms are okay, a very high bed with twin mattresses joined together which just come apart. The bathroom is fine, however all th towels we got were frayed and the bath towels very very small.... more

We were disappointed. The hotel has none of the charm that we expected; our room felt cold, with no rug and little and dull wall decoration. Our double bed was two twins pushed together (that slid apart). Amenities were scarce and wash clothes were frayed. We got conflicting reports from reception on whether the tap water is safe to drink.... more

My new wife and I stayed at the Heinitzburg for one night at the beginning and end of our honeymoon. We arrived at the hotel around 7pm and we were exhausted from the 24 hours of traveling. We knew that the resaurant onsite was one of the best in the country but when we finally got settled in our room... more

This was the only disappointment on a most enjoyable visit to Namibia. I had comleted a wonderful weeks horseriding safari a Okapuka and stopped over in Windhoek for 24hours en-route to Sossusvlei. The Heinitzburg, a small boutique hotel, was entirely unwelcoming and quite frankly what few staff there were appeared to be demoralised. Checking-in there was nobody to show me... more

My husband and I stayed there for a whole day and one night and we loved this cosy hotel with the friendly stuff. Our room with a four poster bed was nicely shaped and very clean (see fotos). There is a swimming pool, a well cared garden and a terasse with a splendid view over the town (I liked Swakopmund... more

Recently spent 3 nights at this hotel. This was our second time at this property as we stayed there 3 years ago on a short visit to Namibia. We were pleased to see that the hotel was in good shape and well maintained. The room was clean and well appointed and the service was generally friendly and professional. We had... more
