Have just come back to the UK after a road trip through the SE corner of USA and thought the State Plaza was pretty good for a city centre hotel, especially after some of the other hotels we stayed in along the trip. As mentioned by other travellers, there are two towers, we stayed in the North Tower. So, first... more

We for the most part enjoyed our stay at the State Plaza. The room was plenty big enough for 2 adults and 2 kids. The staff waskind and accomadating, although the front desk was not to helpful for travelers. There are no brochures or info regarding dc in the lobby you have to ask the person at the counter for... more

We booked because of the kitchen, but it had no microwave or dish soap and the stove didn't work, so making meals was not an option. Bed sheets were soft and it is in a close location to the mall, but a 6 block walk to the Metro. Would not recommend. more

We stayed at the State Plaza for 5 nights. The property is located on a small street where construction was going on. The lobby was only an entrance with some chairs. We got there after the stated check in time and still had to wait for a room. Staff seemed confused at times. Parking was very limited and charged $30.00... more

First the good: - Great location for 4th of July Fireworks. Walk to the corner, cross the street to the center median and you have a great view - Very friendly staff - Convenient to Metro Now the bad: - The rooms are a bit dated and bland and beige is the color of choice in the hallways, rooms, etc.... more

We just returned from our second stay at the State Plaza and I find it to be a great value. The rooms are huge with two queen-size beds, a full kitchen equipped with dishes, pots & pans, toaster, etc., a dressing room, and a closet with iron, ironing board, room safe. Both times, our room was in the north building... more

My husband and I drove from New York state to stay the weekend for a show. The hotel has 2 'entrances' and you have to get to the right one before you can do anything. We had to walk all the way through an alley and through both hotels to get checked in. (We had to go back and forth... more

When we arrived the air condioning wasn't on in the main room (we had a Jr suite which was a BR,Bath, LR with pullout sofa and kitchen.) they had to come and... more

We got to the Hotel at 10pm and were very hungry. We asked staff to see if they were any places around to get food, and can you believe were told that all the places were closed. How can places be closed at 10pm in Washington DC when l can still buy food in Omaha at 2am. The staff was... more

The hotel has a great location. It's only 3-4 short blocks from the national mall, toward the Lincoln Memorial. It was the perfect location for the cherry blossoms, easily walkable to the tidal basin. It is also relatively close to Georgetown and GWU. The rooms were big, much bigger than I expected for the location and the city. We had... more
