The River Inn certainly has a prime location. Quiet tree lined street. Very close to Foggy Bottom Metro as well as Georgetown on one side and Watergate on the other. The hotel is gracious and comfortable. Potomac suites are quite large. Beds very good, as are the linens. Fully equipped kitchen. This hotel is independently owned, not part of a... more

We came in from Alaska and stayed for 4-5 days. I have to say, this hotel was perfect. Front office staff were VERY nice and helpful. The rooms were clean and refreshed everyday. Even left us chocolates which were very much appreciated at the end of a long walking day! It is close to everything. Our taxi to Regan was... more

We found the River Inn to be a great hotel. It isn't a huge chain hotel with massive lobby, etc. It is a quiet hotel tucked into a largely residential neighborhood; many of the people walking nearby appeared to be students from George Washington University. The neighborhood was attractive, and we always felt safe walking in it, even at night.... more

For our annual pilgrimage to DC, we always stay at the River Inn ... Well, this will definitely change! It was going to be our 6th or seventh time staying at the River Inn, and we were looking forward to the comfort and cleanliness it had always offered... The shower in our room ran either hot or cold water, but... more

This was my 3rd stay at the River Inn and once again I wasn't disappointed. I stayed in a Potomac Suite on the 8th floor for 4 nights (it was an courtesy upgrade from the standard suite). It had large wall to wall windows with a wonderful view to the Potomac River. The furniture was elegant and modern, and very... more

We stayed at The River Inn over Memorial Weekend and chose the hotel primarily for its excellent location in Foggy Bottom on a quiet street of row houses, walking distance to the Kennedy Center and Waterfront, Metro, Georgetown and Mall. I also needed to sleep 4 people (couple, and 2 singles) without breaking the bank for 2 rooms in a standard... more

The River Inn is a pretty recently updated hotel in the adorable, quiet neighborhood of Foggy Bottom, just 2.5 blocks to the Metro (Foggy Bottom/GWU on the Blue/Orange Line). I stayed with two other people for three nights in a nice-sized Corporate Suite, which includes a queen bed, sofabed, desk, flatscreen TV, kitchenette and dressing area outside the bathroom. At... more

This hotel was chosen for my group, but I did like it at first. I stayed there 6 nights. The Corporate Suite is a large studio suite with a hidden kitchen behind a wall on which the other side is the bed. You walk into the hallway near the dressing area and the bathroom is on one side. The closet... more

We stayed at The River Inn for 4 nights with our two kids, ages 9 and 12. It was great - big enough (we had the suite) so that we had room to spread out, and 2 TVs. The location was perfect - we walked over to Georgetown for two dinners, but were thankful we were a bit away from... more

This boutique hotel nestled amongst the brownstones near GWU was comfortable and convenient. After reading many of the reviews for this hotel, I decided to try it out. The room was comfortable with a separate dressing area. Queen size bed - comfortable with ipod dock/alarm clock Sitting area with a soft throw for TV watching Plasma TV on a swivel... more
