Just returned from a weekend at Morrison Clark hotel and really enjoyed my stay! Our room was on the first floor with an outside entrance that overlooked a lovely patio garden. The room was a decent size, clean and comfortable. The hotel rooms are in a converted old historic building, so if you are expecting a typical sterile, cookie cutter... more

We stayed here late July 2008. 2 nights. Booked day before through Expedia at $188 per night. Checked in early via helpful receptionist, to a standard 3rd floor room. Nice quality fittings, character bathroom, and view of inner courtyard. Quiet and very comfy beds.Easy position for all the sights. Ate in the restaurant great service, fabulous food, and went back... more

I stayed at the Morrison-Clark in May with my mom. I personally abhor large hotels and prefer charm and history. Both are evident at this hotel. The staff is genuinely courteous and helpful. I can forgo some modern conveniences(no coffee maker in rooms, business center computer is a dinosaur) for a little refreshing charm. The location is excellent. One traveler... more

If you read the previous reviews, you find some which are glowing and some which are very negative. To me, this reflects the nature of a historically-preserved old hotel. The property is not large, and the rooms are laid out in a fashion that was probably very suitable in a by-gone era. If you want a new, modern hotel, with... more

I'm a native Washingtonian but have never heard of or seen this hotel before. It was a nice change from other hotels I've stayed in with a quiet court yard, fire place in the lobby area and over all quiet area. It seems like it can be a Bed-n-Breakfast but its not. more

I got a very reasonable rate directly from the hotel's website and a simple upgrade request at the front-desk at check in scored us a room with a fun view and little balcony. The hotel is elegantly appointed and has true historic charm. There is a nightly manager's reception with wine and a lovely dining room with full lengths mirrors... more

Pictures do not show the dirty and cramped rooms, the unavailible staff, and the gang infested neighborhood. I checked in on Saturday at 6, I felt very unsafe, I checked out at 7 am... I went home. The hotel kept the cash for my 3 night stay...Expedia didn't do a thing ....the hotel called it "policy" Charged me a cancelation... more

I recently stayed at this hotel compliments of a friend and I am glad it was free. They claim that they were built in the 1820s and are trying to maintain their historic character. I wish they would maintain the prices at a historic rate because the amenities are minimal. The room was small and had no aesthetic beauty, in... more

The Morrison-Clark is a gem in this "convention city" of blocky, corporate behemoths that tend to make every stay feel the same. The Inn is charming and relaxing, and the staff is very kind. After many visits for different logistical meetings, the staff has been courteous and helpful every time. The drawing room is the perfect place to wind down... more
