Hotel was undergoing an extensive renovation, but should be very elegant when complete. Rooms were large and comfortable. Location was excellent for sightseeing. Many points of interest were within walking distance or easily accessible by taxi or public transportation. Front staff was helpful and business center was available. more

I had been warned of the huge construction prior to checking in, so I was prepared for the worse. Once you walk in, you are lead through a wooden walkway to the front desk. You cannot see any of the rest of the lobby due to all of the construction barriers. They said the construction should be complete by the... more

Everyone was friendly but things went wrong: 1. At check in we were give a room facing the Capitol. Either he didn't know or he intentionally misled us because the room faced the Capitol but the view was blocked by 2 buildings. 2. The wireless internet did not work in the 3 locations that I tried. 3. While in line... more

First, let me say that I NEVER would have stayed at this hotel at full price. We were attending a nearby event, and the event organizer arranged for a double room for two weekend nights for a flat $200 including everything. I also checked with the front desk, and they had weekend rooms available for $110 plus tax. The lobby... more

The Hyatt Regency lobby is under construction until September 2008, however the professionalism and attentiveness of the staff more than compensates for any inconvience. For example, there is a Starbucks next door which we used for coffee. One morning, on the elevator back to our room with fresh Starbuck's in hand, my husband realized and lamented that he had neglected... more

Yes, the lobby is a disaster and getting in and out of the hotel is like following a maze. However, we only paid $65 through priceline and didn't have our car and the room , fitness room and pool were splendid so I am not going to complain. However, if I were paying full price, had to pay for parking... more

We satyed at this hotel last weekend, 8/22 --8/24. They are doing some major renovations to the lobby. We still had a great stay. The bellhop met our taxi and carried everything down to the lobby (it can be a bit confusing at first, because of the construction). Checkin was a breeze, they asked about our room preference, and were... more

This hotel is a short 5 minute walk up E Street to the Metro at Union Station. The homeless shelter other reviews mention is on D Street. The only time we went past this was in the cab on the way to the hotel. The rooms were larger than I expected, comfortable & clean. My only beef is they were... more

I used to live in the area and regularly attended meetings and events held there by a local special interest group. I also stayed there a few times only because it was a host hotel for an annual convention conducted by the aforementioned special interest group. Anyway, the place is conveniently located near the capitol and Union Station, the rooms... more
