I stayed at Citylife Wellington for 4 nights in August 2008 on a business trip. I enjoyed my stay and would recommed Citylife if you want apartment accomodation. The location is excellent, right in the middle of the city. The staff were friendly and helpful. My first floor suite had 2 bedrooms, one with a double (queen?) bed and the... more

I was really impressed both by the centrality of the location (with lift access down to Lambton Quay, the main shopping street) and the spaciousness of the accommodation. The view was poor- with a lot of light blocked by the drive into the hotel- but my friends, in a two bedroom suite overlooked the Quay so it is the luck... more

I had reserved a 1-bedroom suite that got upgraded to a 2-bedroom (they probably ran out of 1BRs), but that was fine with us. Desk staff was very nice, and the room decor was very modern and sleek, with recessed lighting, a large dining table and a big flat-screen TV with DVD player (bring your own movies). And we definitely... more

We stayed in the Citylife Wellington with my sister and brother-in-law, in a two bedroom apartment. The hotel is very conveniently located in downtown Welllington, and the apartment was modern and comfortable. However, the layout of the apartment was not well suited for two couples. The second bedroom had an interior window looking out at the dining room, with inadequate... more

Three women stayed in a 2 brm 2 bathroom apartment on 5th floor for 2 nights. Plenty of space, good facilities and nicely appointed but although bathrooms were clean and looked well presented they are getting a little 'worn' and on closer inspection had the odd cracked tile and discoloured grouting. Breakfast was included ($269 per night) and was good.... more

2 bedroomed apartment on the 7th floor which was clean, functional and well appointed. Friendly and helpful check-in staff. Great location in the centre of Wellington although car access to the 6th floor Reception is via the back streets and you need good instructions to find it. Great having a washing machine when you are touring for 3 weeks. Only... more

Arrived off the ferry from Picton on a Sunday afternoon - it being a Sunday, most of Wellington was shut! That, and the fact that Wellington brought our first rain in NZ maybe coloured our judgement. Very mechanical check-in didn't highlight the fact that you have to put your roomkey in a slot in the lift to get to the... more

This is an interesting hotel concept - "big cities do not need restaurants" but they supply cooking and kitchen facilities instead!. We stayed here overnight having crossed from South Island and were pleasantly surprised with what we found. The hotel upgraded us to a "junior suite" which was enormous and had every thing from a dishwasher to a full cooker,... more

Part of Heritage Hotels chain but a winner! This is a full apartment in a great location, good views and at a reasonable price, close to all amenities (waterfront, great restaurants, main museum, botanic gardens etc.). Had a very short stay during travels but wished we had been there longer. Wellington has bad weather reputation but was fabulous in March! We'd... more

I booked a 2 bedroom suite for one night. The hotel is easy enough to find, but if you are driving you must take a tour of downtown and come in through a back lane. They will not tell you this when you book. On arrival we were given a ground floor room and found that reception in on the... more
