The Copthorne is very well located, just a short walk from the restaurants and shopping of central Wellington. The makeover of this hotel is complete. I believe I stayed in a standard room of which the decor was modern, the bed very comfortable and it had an adequate standard of amenities. The room was also very clean. My room was located at the back of the hotel overlooking a side street and was also above their conference room.... more

My sister and I and elderly mother stayed in the Copthorne for 2 nights in May. The views were magical and the accomodation superb with a king sized bed in one room and a double bed in another. Stayed a couple of nights in a standard room with a residental / city view. The room was very clean, modern and attractive. In fact we were really impressed with the decor. I stayed at this hotel shortly after its upgrade the room was quite large (studio) and well appointed.I also ate in the restaurant and enjoyed the meal (typical Wellington it was raining and blowing) so didnt want to go out.The views are fantastic and worth the room rate itself ($165).I spend alot of time in hotels and find this Hotel... more

Great location...great re-fit (Ten Million doller makeover very tastefully done). Staff were super friendly and helpful. Front desk/check in/management were a pleasure to deal with. Room was a perfect size and pretty well thought out. We had a great view across the sea and city from a very small but private balcony. Double-glazed windows and doors meant any street noise... more

Booked a B&B package which promised a "superior plus king room". Certainly the view of the harbour was great but the room was small, little storage space - all very ordinary after a supposed $10 million refurbishment. The buffet breakfast was poor and service overall rather lacking. Location good but wouldn't recommend this hotel when in Wellington more
