I have twice stayed at this hotel. My first stay was five stars -- I stayed in the new wing, the Residence. This is a dream, it is modern, clean, spacious, and the residences have very nice kitchens and tremendous space. A five star experience. My second stay, I unwittingly signed up for the older wing, the Regency. All of... more

Hotel needs a refurbishment badly , very dated room especially the bathroom , which had no hairdryer, had to ring reception for one .The bar , restaurant and outside beer garden all very corporate, nothing special , may be a ok business hotel but for tourist look else where , i stayed in city life hotel 3 years ago which... more

I got a great online rate for the club floor, which included wine and nice canapes and breakfast every am. Also, the corporate group I was with had a bus leaving from here every am so it made it the default, Was it new ? No. Was it dirty ? No. Were the staff helpful (ie providing chargers for mobiles,... more

Dont trust the star rating, while the staff are great, the hotel rooms are old, in need of an update and just dont work well from a layout perspective. Hyatt is a big brand, but this hotel is a big let down. Old electrics, rock hard bed that is like concrete and massively expensive for simple things. I asked for... more

My wife & I recently stayed at the Hyatt in Auckland just prior to a cruise. The hotel was average at best, and not what I would have expected from Hyatt. The room was small & dark, & the temperature was hard to regulate. Location is close to University of Auckland & Albert Park. more

My wife and I stayed at this hotel in the old building on 2 and 3 April 2008 in a group of 16 people with 8 rooms between us. Apparently no one in the group were satisfied with their room. All the rooms and common areas were all in need of refurbishment. Our room had dirty curtains with holes, and... more

For our first trip to NZ we wanted to ensure we booked a good quality hotel. On arrival the lobby, bar and resturant looked clean, modern and bright. We were delighted. However when we got to our room (a Regency Room) we were very surprised at: 1. the decor - had seen better days and did not reflect the decor... more

My husband and I just returned from a four night stay at this hotel. From reading previous reviews, it seems that you have one of two experiences while staying at the hotel, which means that you either stay in the Regency (older) wing, or the Residence (newer) wing. We had read reviews on Tripadvisor about this hotel, and opted to... more

Look at my pictures - not the hotel pictures! This is no Hyatt, that we have ever experienced, and was the most unbelievable major name hotel we have ever stayed at. The furniture in the lobby when we arrived was so dirty you wouldn't want to sit on it. The room was shabby, carpet worn and stained. No duvet on... more

My husband and I spent our first four nights in New Zealand at the Hyatt. We did have a one bedroom-suite in the older section overlooking the park. Our room was very clean and spacious with a nice view of the park. We were booked with the Club Level package. Each evening the cocktail hour was excellent with some very... more
