Beware of the "non-Mercure" 3-star budget rooms. They are well below the Mercure standards and far below any 2- or 3-star hotel I experienced in Australia: Cave-like dark cells, no space for whatever, almost no amenities. The bathroom is horrible and tiny, with windows fixed in a half-open position. For that those rooms are way over-prized. more

A pleasant hotel in a great location. Recenly refurbished. The standard rooms are very very small. The buffet breakfast is one of the best I have tasted. Staff were friendly and helpful, with odd exceptions. more

I booked a rather expensive ($500 rack rate) suite in this hotel for four days. Fortunantly the terms were that I could cancel and I moved after the first night! Way overpriced for what it was; overpriced wireless internet only, no foxtel in the bedroom. Depressing, dingy, ugly, cheaply furnished room. Staff don't care. I regularly stay at Accor Hotels... more

The best things about this hotel were the convenient location and very comfortable beds and pillows. Other than that it was average but for the money, served it's purpose. The front desk staff was indifferent and failed to pass on a phone message from the USA. The bathroom could have been cleaner. The room decor was modern and looked recently... more

This is the most conveniently located hotel I've ever visited! The staff were always friendly and helpful. The room was clean. Yes it was small by American standards, but that's part of the fun of travel, and it is a budget hotel after all. I don't think any REASONABLE person would have any complaints about it. more

The the train station opposite isn't the one you use! We got caught out by this and only found out thanks to a chance remark on the shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel. So instead of a leisuely walk over to the train station, we had to fork out $12 on a taxi instead. We had problems checking... more

We spent 6 nights at this hotel and must say, it is one of the most conveniently placed hotels I have ever stayed at. The free bus and tram are right outside and the Casino across the road. Using the free transport, we managed to get nearly everywhere we wanted within the city or to connecting transport outside the city.... more

A friend and I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights in May 2008. When I made the booking via the accor website I specifically requested 2 separate beds. First the bad: Upon check in the (female) manager asked if we wanted a room with one queen bed, to which we replied that we needed and requested 2 beds. Lo... more

I don't know if I can actually state that I stayed in this hotel. I checked in in the afternoon and noticed there was no air conditioning despite the 35 degree Celcius outdoor temperature. Checked downstairs and they said they were working on it and should be fixed by the evening. Went for a walk and dinner and came back... more

My husband and I stayed at the Grosvenor for 3 nights as a quick getaway to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. We had never been to Adelaide before so we were really happy with the location. It is in the same street as all the beautiful old historical buildings and straight opposite the casino. After reading reviews on this site we... more
