An amazing honeymoonExcellent location and apartment was okay, but lets itself down with petty lists of "dont do / must do". Pool is only a lap pool. more
Just a short note to say, that after our experience with Beach Terraces we went in search of accommodation and walked into The Pavilions in P.D on the main drag and spoke with a Kiwi Mngr. He was on the brink of closing BUT still had time to talk with us and we explained our dilemma re accommodation, he unfortunately... more
No welcome mat out at this establishment. We arrived on a sunny afternoon, to find a basement type apartment with every light on and doors wide open, The fact is that, when all lights are off it is virtually pitch black, so lights had to stay on at all times. Balcony not useable, nil light again. Welcome pack, not very... more
As relatively new managers (10 months at end of July) we were dumfounded by these comments. We had only one request for a change of room in July from the ground floor to another due to light concerns but as we were heavily booked it was not possible. No-one came to us to express their concerns over a welcome pack...
We moved to Port Douglas for 5 days after a trip to Cairns and the rain forest. The town itself was a welcome sight with decent coffee bars and restaurants (after the disappointing Cairns experience!) and much nicer/smaller boat trips out to the reef. The Pavilions is run by a couple who took it over some 9 months ago and... more
There were just the 2 of us, so we booked a studio unit. Mistake. Our studio was subterranian with minimal natural light, including in the outdoor area. It was rather small. If we were staying just overnight we could have coped, but with even just one suitcase for 2 people we were tripping over it all the time as there... more
Stayed at the Pavillions for 3 nights in early April 2006. The room was a bit tight, but had all the amenities we needed, including a lovely private porch overlooking the hotel's pool. The price seemed fair and about average for hotels in Port Douglas area. The hotel's location is right in the middle of the downtown area, allowing us... more
Despite the one review of the Pavilions posted on Trip Advisor being overwhelmingly negative, after a look at the Pavilions own website and careful consideration of my family's travel needs, I booked it on a last-minute hotel website. It met our needs very well and provided us with an excellent base in Port Douglas from which to enjoy the town... more
The Pavilions is in a excellent location. The staff are friendly and helpful Our room, a basement, was very dark, we needed the lights on 24/7. The kitchen was adequate but there was very little storage space, especially if staying more than a couple of days. There is no dishwasher or washing machine. There were no shelves or drawers in... more
