We booked 5 nights at the Breakfree Reef Club via their website and picked up a fairly cheap rate, about $550 for the 5 nights so our expectations weren't that high. On arrival we found the basement carparking was very cramped, only about 12 parks and we actually missed out on a park a couple of times and had to... more

we stayed here for 6 days. the staris up from the garage level to the rooms are steep when you are carrying suitcases but over all we were happy with this accomodation. the staff were very helpful and friendly. Not far from the main shopping and the beach. Lots of restaurants nearby. more

I booked this resort- a 1 bedroom unit through RCI timeshare for a holiday with my 77 year old Mum. I wanted twin sleeping and requested this Phoning and emailing before our arrival. I also wanted a downstairs unit as Mum has a heart condition and only 25 % flow thru heart valves. When we got there I had downstairs... more

We didn't have huge expectations for this place, but were overall very happy with arrangements. We had 2 weeks in a 2-bdrm apartment on the 3rd floor (beware if you don't like stairs or have health problems, there are no elevators/lifts in this 3-storey resort). We were also situated at the back of the complex which meant we had very... more

Narrow staircases and no lift access made for an average first impression of this property. Carting cases up flights of stairs was not ideal. The room had a very musty smell which did not dissipate during our stay in spite of our best efforts. Airconditioning units and ceiling fans in each of the rooms was necessary and very welcome. We... more

We are a family of four that had a two bedroomed apartment at the Reef Resort for six nights during the school holidays. Our particular apartment faced Blake Street which is a side road off Davidson Street. We found the accommodation just adequate for our needs. The second bedroom uses sliding louvre doors to close off from the living area... more

Very satisfied with our 2-bedroomed apartment for 3 adults and a teenager. Air conditioning units as well as ceiling fans in lounge and both bedrooms. Kitchen contained a two-ring hob, microwave, jug, toaster and fridge, ample kitchen tools, cutlery, glassware and crockery, pots and frypan and assorted dishes for serving, salads etc and reasonable bench space. Sliding door to our... more

We are a family of four (mum, dad and two teenage girls) from Dublin, Ireland and we stayed at the Reef Club for 5 nights in July 2007. We were a bit worried when we read some of the reviews here but were delighted with our clean, comfortable two bedroomed apartment which had all the amenities we could have needed... more

I took my son to Port douglas to experience The Great Barrier Reef and the tropical far north queensland beaches and had a really enjoyable time. Our two bedroom apartment was private and quiet and looked onto tropical gardens which are a feature of The Reef Club Apartments as is the beautiful salt water pool and large spa. The resort... more

Have read other reviews and will point out that it is a self catering apartment as many in Port Douglas are. This will keep down the room costs. We booked a one bedroom apartment. I was looking forward to this as we are on the road for an extended period and it is a great treat to have a real... more
