Can I say the location is absolutely fantastic and I even saw fireworks on the harbour from the rooftop swimning pool area. There were so many reviews about the noise that I requested a quiet room and got the 7th floor and their windows are double glazed anyway. It was not noisy at all. The location is so close to the the... more

The location - right in the Rocks between the Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House - is great! The hotel is pretty average in most regards. The rooms are small and adequate (nothing more, nothing less), but you are really staying here for the location. Most of the staff were very nice and helpful. The bellman was the only person... more

We had a great 3 night stay at the Old Sydney Holiday Inn. The location is fabulous, just like everyone says. Just outside your door are shops, restaurants and the Visitors Center...a couple blocks to Circular Quay, the Opera House and everything else you might want to see! We traveled with our 2 children, ages 8 and 12. We had... more

We stayed here for 3 nights in an executive room which had great views of Circular Quay, and the Opera House. The Rocks is a great area to stay in. When we arrived at the hotel we had been travelling for 24 hours and I was hoping our room was ready, but it wasn't. The reception staff told us we... more

We stayed here for 5 night, this hotel is in the Rocks area of Sydney and is a fantastic base. The rooms were lovely, and the views are great from the roof. You are mins from Circular Quay and hence a wide range of activities. The restaurants in this area are great, and the atmosphere is electric! There is a... more

We stayed for three nights with our three year old daughter after booking online. As everyone else has said, the location can't be bettered if you're looking for something central as you're able to stroll to Circular Quay in less than five minutes. Room was a good size, with a view of the harbour bridge, but bathroom was disappointing and... more

We arrived at the Old Sydney Holiday Inn after a 20 hour flight from London, we actually arrived into Sydney at 05.30am and headed straight to the hotel. When we arrived we were extremley happy with the location as we were only a stones throw away from the Bridge and Opera House. As it was really early and most hotels... more

Stayed for 2 nights 22/23 April. We booked 2 nights through Wotif at $199 per night - 2 double beds plus breakfast, on 6th Floor. Best location especially for tourists new to Sydney. Direct access to Circular Quay, by train or shuttle, from International and Domestic airports. Just a couple of problems with restaurant, fixed by keen management, initially let... more

Very expensive but as a one off it was certainly worth it. The view from the roof really is amazing and if two 15yr olds can be impressed it must be good ! The location is incredible, sightseeing bus stops right outside the door, 5min walk to circular quay and ferries to Manly etc. We were really sorry to leave.... more

This hotel is fantastically positioned in the old Rocks area of Sydney. If you ask for an executive room you will be looking out to The Opera House across the harbour and Sydney Harbour bridge to the left - absolutely fantastic view! The rooms are huge with a living area and well as king size bed, flat screen tv, huge... more
