We stayed at the Villa Porta All Arco for 3 days and really enjoyed our stay. Volterra is a lovely Tuscan hill town and the Villa is in a great location 5 minutes walk from the town. The rooms are lovely, hosts very friendly, good breakfast and there is free parking. All in all, highly recommended. more

100% pleased with the Villa Porta all'Arco. We were able to park easily, the staff was so friendly and helpful and seemed genuinely glad to see us. The room was quite spacious and completely quiet. Breakfast was immense and scrumptous. One of the best we had at Italian hotels. more

Location, location, location. We were at this hotel for 2 nights We were near one of the main enterances into the city. We had a room on the 3rd floor facing the garden as requested and a great view from our window of the countryside. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and large and good water... more

This hotel is charming and its staff are wonderful, kind and considerate people. Breakfast was a delightful experience. The accommodations are simple, but clean and utilitarian, and well worth the reasonable rates charged. Two words of caution. (1)The hotel is on a busy street that must be walked along and traversed to climb the several steps to the town. It... more

Chose this Hotel using the reviews on here and how lucky we were to stay there. Room was lovely and spacious. We stayed two days and had breakfast in the garden both days. The breakfast was delicious as commented on here and the staff laughed when we told them their breakfasts were legendary. The only downside is that it I... more

Stayed there for a night in august and i really wish we could have stayed longer. The hotel is situated just outside the city walls, it takes a short but quite steep 5 minutes walk to go to the city centre. The staff are really nice and helpful: they sent me two weeks before our stay an email with a... more

Volterra is a tiny medieval city famous for "alabastro" stone.Located on the top of a hill it's very charming and not so far from Siena, Chianti area, Pienza and spa. This hotel is small and sticked to the medieval wall that surrounds the town.Hospitality and kind attitudes from the desk and staff amazed me.Rooms are simple, furniture country oriented, bathroom is bigger... more

This is a lovely little hotel just outside the city walls. Our room was big, well furnished and clean with a good quality bathroom. There was air con and a nice view out the big windows across the countryside. And having a large area for parking within the gates of the hotel was a definite bonus. The short walk up... more

After a day in Pisa (yuck!), we were thrilled to arrive at the village of Volterra. Like most of Italy, you have to be prepared for steep climbs and lots of steps (in the village, not the hotel), but our three days in Volterra at the Villa Porta all'Arco were a great experience. The hotel is in an old villa... more

We had a very pleasant stay at the Villa Porta all'Arco. We found the host Antonella to be extremely friendly, helpful and very proud of her hotel and Volterra. We had a downstairs room overlooking the garden and outside the breakfast area which could be noisy of a morning although this was not a problem for us. It was decorated... more
