Excellent hotel. Super location near the castle and well away from other tourist hotels. Numerous good local restaurants in the Alfama and over towards Graca. Strong legs needed for all the hills, but healthy appetites assured! more

My husband and I stayed at the Olissippo Castelo for a week around Christmas 2007 and had a wonderful time. The only drawback I can think of is that the hotel is located on top of a steep hill. Stayed 4 nights after Christmas and found the location, the staff and the accomodations very pleasant. Our room was good sized with a huge balcony (better in summer but gave the room an even more expansive feel), bathroom with strong shower, wifi hot spot, a SAFE in the room (not always found, but greatly appreciated) and a very nice breakfast... more
