Like most cities, staying in the centre of Amsterdam is expensive - if you want a decent hotel. The Sofitel is not too bad for price and is certainly decent. Would stop there again in a heartbeat! more

My husband and I stayed at the Sofitel Amsterdam for 2 nights for a weekend at the end of February. We found a special rate on the Sofitel website which made it very affordable.
