The Calzaiuoli is a superb hotel. This was my 3rd stay in Florence and the nicest hotel yet. Friends of mine who vacation in Florence regularly (it is almost their second home) stay at the Savoy and rave about it. However, at 250 euro a night, (375 american) it was out of our budget for our honeymoon. The Pulitzer was... more
I stayed at the Calzaiuoli Hotel last week for three nights and the hotel exceeded all my expectations. Its rated 3 stars, but I would venture to say that it should be more. The hotel is very clean and beautifuly decorated with marbel and nice finishes everywhere. It has a very knowlegable consierge and a door man to help any... more
My wife and I stay for three nights at the hotel Calzaiuoli and were very pleased with our stay. Our room was calm (even though located at the corner of the two busiest streets of downtown Florence). We had a view on both the Piazza della Republica and the cupola of the Duomo. The only drawback: the bathroom was a... more
The Hotel has an excellent location on one of main streets in Florence , so ideally located to see all the main sights . We had a room facing on to the main street and with the windows closed you can not hear any noise. I found the reception staff very helpful , helping us by booking 2 excellent restaurants... more
This was our first time in Florence and we arrived in town mid-afternoon. I had researched hotels for weeks and this one felt so right from the reviews. I must say, we were really impressed beyond our expectations. I had requested a standard room without any upgrades, and Room 401 turned out to have a window that on the left,... more
We stayed at the Hotel Calzaiuoli for 2 nights in May and found the hotel to be of a high standard. The rooms were slightly bigger than expected for Florence but not large, however, the fixtures and fittings in the rooms were of a very high quality with marble bathrooms and power showers, great quality towels and toiletries . We... more
My girlfriend and I stayed in this hotel in January 2007 for 3 nights and we could not have asked for more. The room was lovely and clean with a beautiful bathroom. The staff were very polite and helpful and told us of the best restaurant that was a hidden gem just two streets down - and I cannot remember... more
Overall, we were very pleased with this hotel. The good points: Our room was quite large with a queen sized bed, dual desk, two chairs with a small table and a smallish flat screened tv. The windows do really keep out most of the lively Florence night noise. The breakfast is quite good and the location is fantastic. Everything is... more
Very nice hotel, in the very center of florence, the street on which it resides is the street that goes from the duomo to the ponte vecchio, right in the middle of those 2 attractions and just 1 block away form the piazza de la republicca. Great fares! Service is very nice, views are amazing. The only thing I would... more
