Cannot rate this hotel too highly. The situation is magnificent right on the San Marco Canal with fantastic views. Try and get a balcony room - ours came complete with it's own flag pole. Great place to sit and watch the world go by (and most of the world did)! The food was excellent and the staff extremely helpful -... more
I searched for hours on TripAdvisor and other sites for the right place to stay in Venice for our 20th wedding anniversary. I wanted something special and personal - not one of the corporate like hotels with more conference room facilities than tourist facilities. My brother said that when he was in Venice he often stopped off at the Londra... more
We've just returned from a weekend in Venice at the Hotel Londra. After much searching and changing our minds several times, we decided to stay at this Hotel primarily because of the reviews on Trip advisor, and we were very glad we did! Firstly we were very surprised at the professional level of service - something, which on occasions can... more
The Londra Palace is a first class hotel in an amazing location on the Grand Canal. It's just steps from St Marks, and is also convenient to the main vaporetto stops. As it was a special occassion and our first time away with no kids, we did a lot of research into which hotel we should stay at - looked at the top hotels (Cipriani, Il Bauer etc) and felt that the Londra Palace and inparticular ROOM 510 (which is the... more
I have just spent 4 nights at Hotel Londra which is supurbly situated for the main sights in Venice, a wonderful view and great transport connexions. The quality and condition of the decor is first rate; better in my view than some of the other top class hotels I inspected in Venice which seem to rely too much on their... more
For those that have looked at the website for this hotel, it is worth pointing out that it comprises not only the rather drab-looking building that bears its name, but also the more elegant premises next door with the 3 impressive balconies looking out to San Giorgio, the Giudecca and across the lagoon. We were in room 208 in this... more
Oh Venezia, Venezia! Well, to me at least, Venice is a place you either don't visit for the past 15 years (since our first Cosmos tour in 1992), or you repeat visits two to three times a year (April and Dec 2007, and now, March 2008)! And yes, I would have to admit this, too - that I am such... more
