The hotel had been renovated and had none of the charm of the photos advertised. Small room which we had to wait to be made up. Despite the high price tag we had to beg to have breakfast out by the canal in the empty restaurant! Overpriced, over rated. Woudn't stay there again. Only plus was the great location. more

A beautiful hotel and the location couldn't be more convenient! Water taxis are steps away as is San Marco Square. The room was smaller than what the brochure indicated but very well kept and the bathroom made up for the lack of bedroom space. Staff was helpful and the breakfast was outstanding. more

We stopped at the Monaco and Grand for our honeymoon, and what a fantastic place this is. The bar looks out on the the Grand canal, with gondole after gondole entertaining tourists, Th ewaterbus stop is directly outside the hotel, providing trips to the island of Lido, and to the Riallto. This hotel was the best! We went on a tour and stayed in Rome and Florence as well. The Rome hotel was ok and it was functional. The Florence hotel was dump, but this one soared above all in Italy! We loved this hotel. Lucked out and had a room overlooking the grand canal; we could have watched the gondoliers out the window all day long. The amenities were very clean and beautifully decorated. Rooms are small but to be expected in Europe. Very comfortable and quiet. Bar/Restaurant are very expensive for us poor americans, so we went somewhere else.... more

Great Location, right on the Grand Canal and very near to San Marco where water buses leave every couple of minutes. 5 min walk from St Marks Square. Next to Harrys Bar.
