When we first arrived to the Hotel Teatro Di Pompeo my mom was a little taken aback by its obscure location and lack of street appeal. However, she quickly grew to love this hotel in Rome. Hotel Teatro Di Pompeo is conveniently located by Campo del Fiori which is great for people watching. Although by a popular bar district the... more

My husband and I stayed here for 9 nights on our honeymoon and we couldn't have been more pleased. The hotel is clean, staff is friendly and extremely helpful, and the service is superb. The hotel is located in a wonderful area and is within easy walking distance to all the major sites in Rome. We walked everywhere - the... more

After we had read the reviews about the Hotel Teatro di Pompeo, we decided to book it; and we couldn't have been happier! This hotel is great! We had a very clean room (actually, it was the cleanest hotel we stayed at in Italy). There was also a big, private bathroom. The staff was extremely nice and helpful and spoke... more

Fantastic little hotel - a real gem. Located in the heart of the city, providing easy acess to all major sights. Vatican - 15 mins, Pantheon 10 - 15, Colosseum & Forum 20 mins. Rooms lovely and spotlessly clean. Breakfast great, lots of choice (fruit, cereals, hams, cheeses etc) and you take breakfast in the ruins underneath the hotel! A... more

The hotel was difficult to find - our taxi driver even got lost a number of times but once there we couldn't have been happier. It was a 15 minute walk from the Vatican and the Colosseum but the walk is beautiful. The room was large with a king size bed and tons of room for all our luggage and... more

We spent 10 days in Rome in early March. The Teatro Pompeo became our home away from home. We had a room on the third floor in the front of the building. We did hear some street noise from the wonderful restaurant right next door. This was particularly true on the weekend. The interior hallway and tenant noise was not... more

The room was very basic, but also very clean and comfortable. It had a "bonus room" (approx. 7'x8') in between the bathroom and bedroom that was nice for staging the luggage and things. The eating area was really cool, down in a cave. There was also an Internet terminal down there for a couple euros per hour. It is just... more

Three really good reasons to stay here: Paolo, the manager, is just great...helpful, cheerful, knowlegeable, enthusiastic, knows how to deal with Americans effectively. He is sort of the unofficial mayor of the Theatro de Pompeo neighborhood. Location at/near the Compo di Fiori couldn't have been better. Easy walks to some of the best Roman sites and highlights. It is impeccably... more

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in September 2007 (2 couples from Canada). It was a great little hotel with very helpful staff, especially Simonne and Paolo who spoke very good English. The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms had large deep bathtubs and a shower. Noise was not an issue at all. True there is no view but... more

Where to start? The walls are paper thin - you can hear EVERYTHING going on in the room next door and above you. The beds barely qualified as beds they were so uncomfortable. There is no view from the windows - they look out onto the hotel's inner area (not a courtyard) or to the building next door (the guy... more
