The Catalonia Centro hotel, inaugurated in June 2005, is located in a building from late 19th century and situated in the centre of Madrid, the Salamanca quarter, the best commercial and business area of the city. The hotel has six floors that display the typical housing of the Barrio de Salamanca. Its brick facade has glass balconies with lattices, also typical of Madrid. It has 88 modern and comfortable rooms with all facilities with wooden floor and furniture.

My wife and I had a delightful stay at the Catalonia Centro in Madrid in July. The hotel is at excellent location, on Goya near Velasquez and just the right size. Our room was very smartly furnished and comfortable. Reservation made through softguides gave us an excellent price of 83 E., much less the rate on the hotel web site.... more

This hotel had only been open a couple of months so I should have expected some teething problems. I am really not a fussy customer, but the whole feel of the place is unfinished; our room was clean and modern, but loo flush button was not fitted and no tea/coffee making facilities, and the lift stopped working one day and... more

I stayed in this hotel by mistake - i was booked in another catalonia hotel but an error with the computer system meant i was whisked off to this one as compensation - I must say I was pleased they did!
