Perfectly located opposite the Prado Museum, and less than 5 minutes' walk from the Parque del Buen Retiro (Madrid's Botanic Gardens). Lobby not as dramatic and impressive as I would have expected for such a grand exterior, but I simply loved La Rotonda, where light meals/refreshments can be partaken under an enormous and spectacular stained glass dome. Breakfast spread typical... more

We stayed at the Palace three times during our visit to Spain and found the rooms to be quite different depending on the location. We were on the SPG level twice and were happy with the rooms. The first room on the SPG level was on a courtyard and very quiet with comfortable beds. The next room was upgraded to... more

Just got back from our trip from Spain and had a great time. We started at Madrid and the Westin Palace. Right away you realize you are in the heart of the city and as an art fan, you are right where you want to be to enjoy the city's amazing museums. The Palace has a beautiful lobby and the... more

Stayed over a weekend in feburary, 2008. Every facet of the experience was excellent (and also expensive). The service was courteous & professional, the rooms were large by european standards and very well appointed. The grounds of the hotel were elegant yet unpretentious. Next time i go, i will splurge on the extravagant champagne opera brunch (70 euro/person) in the... more

I will keep this very short (which is not like me!): We loved the Palace. The decor in common areas is dated, but meant to be...it used to be a palace after all! I read in other's reviews that they didn't like the "dated" decor, but we thought it to be lovely and majestic. You MUST have breakfast or dinner... more

I booked this hotel using Starwood "Cash and Points". I only paid $90 per night using this system. When I write reviews about hotels in which I do this, I try to write them based on the average rate of the room because that is what I assume people will pay when they go there. I will assume most people... more

Lovely, classic hotel very near the Prado, shopping, and the Sofia Reina. The rooms are standard but very clean and nice. The restaurant is under a beautiful rotunda. Food is surprisingly very good. Service is good, although speaking Spanish helps. Everything is very nice, if just one step below superb. AC works sporadically, shutting off at night when you might... more

This is a beautiful, established hotel in a great central location. Very comfortable bedrooms and everywhere was very clean and tidy. We had a most relaxing 2 nights and the service was very good. The one downside was the shocking price of the bar drinks - far higher than New York or London. Why? more

We found a great deal for the Westin Palace through expedia, and having heard that this was one of the "grande dame" 5* hotels in Madrid we decided to go for it for our mini-honeymoon weekend break. On first glance the hotel appears to be exactly what it claims: a 5* elegant, grand hotel in an excellent location. However, our... more
