Wombat's is the height of convenience when it comes to sightseeing in and daytripping from Munich - it's right across the street from the main train station, the "Haupbanhof" (which is also the hub for the city's three local subway/lightrail systems), and walking distance to the Marienplatz, Old Town and other attractions. This is a party place and nothing more. If you come to Munich with the intention of sightseeing, do not stay here, unless you want to share a living environment with noisy, dirty, loud, drunk people. The location of this hostel, near the train station and close walking distance to all that Munich has to offer, is excellent. For this money, you will not stay somewhere this nice for less. Not that it's especially nice - but it's typical Wombat's - hip, trendy, lots of handout/tourism advice, a good city walking tour left from here, cheap... more

Definitely the place for partying but not for sleeping. Room was good, but partying and bar noise level in the room was ultra high until 2 in the morning, high until 4 in the morning, and still partying at 6 when I left. more

Wombats hostel provides everything you would expect and want from a hostel (within reason!) apart from a kitchen which apparently German rules make it hard for them to do so.
