Spent Hogmanay at The Rusacks. It was a fantastic experience which I would highly recommend to anyone. Our room was a junior suite overlooking the Old Course and R&A and was lovely. The Rusacks hotel is in an excellent position for both the town centre and the golf courses. There is a small car park at the back of the hotel with further free on-street parking close by. We stayed in November and couldn't get into the hotel car park so I imagine it's vitually impossible in the height of tourist season... more

We paid for an upgraded room, but the room was tiny. The hotel has recently been refurbished and the public areas are very good. Superficially our room looked good, but there many practical problems: far too hot , impossible to regulate temperaure, poor shower, poor television reception, extremely rickety windows. Stayed here several nights when we accompanied our daughter to St. Andrews University. Great location and wonderful views! Dinners adequate, breakfasts perfect, cozy lounge overlooking the old course - a bit pricey but worth it. more
