I stayed at the Sands in late June. First of all, the best thing about the Sands is the location. It's a block from English Bay and an easy walk to Stanley Park. Many of the fun activities (walking, biking, kayaking) in Vancouver couldn't be closer. Also, the neighborhood has a wide assortment of cafes and restaurants that should appeal... more

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. I was visiting in order to race the Triathlon World Championships, so comfort was very important. Eddie gave me a great rate and Mr. Grant made sure I had oatmeal for breakfast on race day. All of the staff were so very helpful. The rooms were clean and quiet (except for the... more

June 6th.'08. Rosemont.PA.USA My friend and I have just spent a few days at Best Western Sands Hotel on Davie Street in Vancouver.B.C. We were very impressed with the friendly and efficient service from the moment we arrived. Our room was clean and well appointed, with a balcony overlooking the beach at English Bay. I stayed here to attend Institute of Industrial Engineers conference in the Westin Bayside hotel (15-20 minutes walk away, and more expensive). Overall experience very good. Room large, clean, comfortable bed, quiet (I was on 3rd floor overlooking parking lot, I never did bother to wheedle for room with nicer view, since I was hardly in room except to eat... more

I stayed at the Sands for one night in early March prior to heading off on holiday. As always, I was more than satisfied with all aspects of the service but on the day I was leaving to catch my train the staff excelled themselves. I had a harmless but messy fall at English Bay and returned to the hotel... more

I have just returned home from a weekend stay at the Best Western Sands Hotel and cannot stop raving about what a top notch establishment it is. The staff are extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The hotel is very nicely decorated and appointed but not to the point where you can't relax. I had a lovely room with a King... more

I spend Christmas at the Best Western Sands for 4 nights. I got 2 queen beds in my room on the third floor with the ocean view. The room was clean and the service desk was helpful for directions. However, the room was too cold even though the heater was on, so I requested an extra heater which was provided... more

This was our second stay at the Sands. The first time we were in one of the rooms that has not yet been renovated. This time, we stayed on the top floor (with balcony and great view), which was certainly an improvement over the previous room we stayed in. While the room didn't exactly knock our socks off, the parts... more

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel over the Thanksgiving weekend. The front desk staff were very professional, helpful, courteous, and pleasant. The king bed in the room was super! Except for my bed at home, I have not slept on such a comfortable bed. The only niggling little thing about the room is that the bathroom is very... more

I absolutely LOVED my time at Best Western. The front desk staff were so friendly and courteous. I was upgraded to a better room and it had an awesome view of the ocean. The rooms were recently renovated and beautiful! The hotel is very close to the ocean and tonnes of places to eat. Ill definitely go back. more
