A lovely stay in this oasis. Judith and Jon are most welcoming - we felt part of their extended family! The accommodation is comfortable and spacious - the pool is on the doorstep. What makes this place so wonderful is not the accommodation etc - although they are all very good - it's the people. Sofia in the kitchen (that... more

We had never traveled in Mexico prior to our trip to Oaxaca. Quite frankly, I was hesitant..fear of language problems, food, just afraid we would miss our basic comforts of home. What a wonderful surprise. Casa Ollin, the staff and surroundings dispensed with all our trepidations. When we arrived we were greeted by Judith(owner). She introduced us to her staff..told... more

This was my third stay at Casa Ollin (and 2nd this year). I keep going back to this particular bed and breakfast because I have always had such a wonderful time and simply love the owners and staff. As a woman who usually travels alone, Ollin is ideal. When you are inside the walls, you are completely safe. I have... more

We stayed at Ollin for a few days in early July. Every person connected with this B&B went out of his or her way for us in every way you can imagine. I was sick, I got some meds. My daughter came to visit with friends, someone got some extra chairs. We returned from a market visit, and a delicious... more

Judith and the staff are amazing! We showed up at 7:00am for our 3:00pm check-in time. Judith was so nice to let us crash for a few hours in a un-used room until our room was ready. She also let us keep our luggage at the B&B on our last day after check-out since our bus didn't leave until very... more

I just spent a week at Casa Ollin and would like to confirm it's excellent rating. The experience is a wonderful combination of a small boutique hotel and a bed and breakfast. There is privacy for those who want that, as well the wonderful suggestions and support from the owners Jon and Judith. Sophie's creative and delicious breakfasts kept me... more

After spending a week in a palatial villa in Huatulco, we were nervous about the Ollin as our last hotel destination in Oaxaca City. FORTUNATELY, we were thrilled with our choice, especially during the time of the music and folkloric festival, Guelaguetza, when the city is bulging with turists and merrymakers. Tucked away on a quiet street close to the... more

Stayed at Casa Ollin for five days in July 2008. Has everything you could ask for in a B&B, and then some! Nice rooms with an Oaxacan flavor. Lovely kitchen, dining, and lounge area. Sophie cooks wonderful Oaxacan breakfasts, and serves it to you hot off the stove. Do try the delicious Oaxacan hot chocolate, if you're not averse to... more

My husband and I had an amazing experience staying at Ollin. Not only were the staff wonderful and friendly, but they were extremely knowledgeable as well. The decor was beautiful and really brought the spirit of Oaxaca in the hotel. We were really impressed with the breakfast. The food was the best we tasted in all of Oaxaca. Anyone who... more

Casa Ollin is okay, but not amazing -- and frankly, a bit pricey for what you get (compared with other offerings in Oaxaca City). The Pros: • Quiet (in residential neighborhood that's virtually dead at night) • Conveniently located (a short walk from the zocalo) • Clean • Safe • Recently renovated • Judith, one of the owners, is friendly... more

Management response from
CasaOllin, Owner

We haven’t had to respond to a commentary before, because the previous 99 reviews have all been positive and given us a good, to excellent rating. Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, however, this guest went beyond opinion and began distorting the facts—so, we would like to clarify a few misstatements in the Traveler Review by TravelGalore1....
