During our last trip to St-Martin, we stayed at the Mercure Simson Beach, on the french side of the island. Upon our arrival at the hotel, we were welcomed by a cordial, enthusiastic and caring personnel as well as by the owners of the hotel, whom, I may say, were charming. They made us feel at home and as if... more

What to say on a three star colonial type hotel.... First of all the food was great, the breakfast is a buffet so you can choose to eat cereals, eggs, croissant... My room was large and bright with a big balcony. Always cleaned. For sure, the French part of the island is very european so if you prefer the Cancun... more

Being on the French side of the island which tends to quieter and more secluded you would think that the nicer resorts would be on this side of the island. Nothing could be further from the truth! The best hotels are on the Dutch side i.e the Westin and the Oyster Bay Resort. I did not arrive at the Mercure... more

I think this resort is a perfect spot to getaway & relax, the food is fantastic, the rooms are good, the service generally good & usually the place is not too crowded. Baie Rouge is very close by if you like bigger waves,(be careful) I spent 6 hours having my shoulder popped back into place at the local hospital after a... more

We had very mixed feelings about our stay - there were some excellent aspects of this hotel and some truly horrible. Let's start with the good: -The food is excellent and the service during meals is very good. They are somewhat understaffed at times, which actually made me sorry for some of the waitresses that were literally drenched with sweat... more

Having been all throughout the Caribbean, I must say this was by far the worst resort I have ever stayed at. The service was a joke, especially if you did not speak French. I had to literally beg for a bottle of water at the bar after waiting 15 minutes just to get the bartender's attention. There was feces on... more

We stayed at the Mercure Simpson this past June as a last minute vacation. Although the food in the restaurant is absolutely delicious, much work is needed with respect to the rest of place. First and foremost, the desk staff needs some training in manners. When we arrived, we were put into two rooms on the first floor that were... more

We went from the 30th of June till the 7th of July and I can say that this is a great place to stay. It is a bit farther away than the other hotels (sonesta etc) and therefore it is a lot quieter. The place has it's own little beach on the lagoon, very nice. Overall the food was great.... more

Stayed June 14th to 21'st. The beach at this hotel is not really for swimming, I highly reccomend renting a car for the week, since St. martin/maarten has about 37 beaches. I visited about 10 of them, all the popular rental agencies are at the airport (budget, thrifty, hertz etc). If your willing to listen to a time share pitch... more
