Interesting property. Very unique. First off the staff are great, very accomodating. The location is great. It might take about 3hrs to get to from Kingston but the ride is breathtaking and Portland is such a great off the beaten track area - If you hate being in a all inclusive tourist area this is the spot. But you must... more

This is a one-of-a-kind place! We stayed in both tree houses and it's been quite an experience! I'm not sure I would recommend it for long stays, but it's definitely worth going there for a couple of nights! Note that none of the rooms have keys, which is a bit off-putting, but actually turns out to be forgotten very quickly.... more

we have stayed in a lot great places but great huts was by far the most romantic place we have ever stayed. The manager was so helpful and gave us the chance to stay in two different huts. the almond tree and bamboo tree house that has it's own veranda with breathtaking views. The staff were all great, they made... more

I just got back from a week long stay at Great Huts and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to relax in REAL Jamaica away from all the development of places like MoBay, etc. Great Huts is located in Boston Bay near the Boston Bay Jerk Center, which is where Jerk Chicken originated. The compound is on about... more

This property was the most laid back place on earth! The property and the staff, especially Cynthia, were so efficient and made our stay here one that we will never forget. The serene, naturalism of the property was most relaxing and the sounds of the ocean at night were both soothing and romantic. The ocean views were connected to the... more

Our stay at Great Huts was both adventurous and relaxing at the same time. We stayed here the longest on our trip, and we're really glad we did at this super laid-back spot. The property is beautiful with several secluded areas to just sit and watch the ocean in peace. The staff and manager are incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming.... more

The Good - We stayed in the Bamboo Treehouse with comfrtable king bed, excellent mosquito net, huge windows on two sides with great views and ventilation. The property is clean and well-maintained. Free wireless internet in the communal area that's reasonably fast. Good pizza. Nice, secluded beach. Jerk centre a block away. The Bad - Rock, gravel floor in the... more

We arrived vary late, but we were greeted by the security guard, and he was very informed of who we were, and was able to get us straight into our room. When I awoke in the morning, the sun was peeking through the flaps of the Tabernacle tent. I was out of bed at 6am, and grabbed my camera to... more

We had a wonderful stay at Great Huts, Boston Beach, Jamaica. The hosts, wife Nikki and Paul welcomed us in their little piece of paradise on a fossilized coral cliff on the ocean. We were travelling with our two kids aged 11 and 8. There were puppies, parrots, frogs, lizards, and other birds and wildlife to enjoy. The breakfasts were... more

My sister and I stayed at Great Huts (our second time) for 6 nights in November 2007 and LOVED it. First of all, let me say this....do NOT come to Jamaica if you are narrow minded, not flexible and cannot show respect to a third world country. I cannot stand it when Americans and Europeans come and all they do... more
