A TripAdvisor, Greece 2008 I really was thrilled when the travel agency told me that this hotel was number one in Cuba! I had no idea then... When I finally arrived at the hotel after 20 hours in the airports, totally exhausted, I found myself informed by the receptionist, that in order to use the mini bar in my room... more

This hotel is located in the Vedado section of Havana is a about a 10 minutes drive to the Old City. It cost about 6CUCs, about $6US to go from the hotel to the Old City. The hotel has a beautiful view of the Carribean and the Malacon. It is right next door to the famed Riviera Hotel that was... more

I was really so happy when I found out that our agency had booked our stay in Melia Cohiba and not in any other hotel, as - having read the reviews - I was so enthusiastic about it. But, even if I was tired by arriving in Havana and even if the hotel lobby was impressive, I could not help... more

Stayed twice several nights each. Great location with free shuttle bus service to city center. Service outstanding. Having a Gold Card with Iberia (affilliated loyalty program company) probably helped. We saw miserable package tourists having booked standard rooms treated like second class citizens. I called the hotel directly to get the best rate ($95 for a premium room). Upon arrival... more

Due to Cubana Airlines overbooking a flight back to the UK we, and six other travellers were booked into deluxe rooms on the 18th floor in the Melia Cohiba by the travel company. The hotel is definitely 5 star until it came to levels of service and friendliness of the staff. Admittly we only ate in the buffet twice but... more

If you are looking for a comfortable 4-5 star European style hotel in Havana, then this hotel is perfect. It does not have the history of the Nacional or the central, if noisy and fumey, position of the Parque Central, but it is extremely comfortable. It is a 5 CUC taxi trip to Old Havana or, if the weather isn't... more

We stayed for three days. The hotel was extremely busy and lifts were almost impossible to use. Although on the 11th floor we used the stairs as it was quicker than waiting for the lifts. Our room looked towards Old Havana and sunrise was lovely. The room was large, clean, but the decor was dated. We had an extra bed... more

I stayed at the Melia Cohiba with a group of 35. This is by far the most modern and deluxe hotel in the city. Rooms are well maintained and even the smaller ones were a good size. Staff was helpful and attentive. A few drawbacks: parts of the hotel look like they need a fresh coat of paint. The pool... more

We stayed at the Melia Cohiba as part of a 2 week holiday twinned with Melia Cayo Coco. This was booked through Thomas Cook. Our Thomas Cook Rep in Havana was good, she arranged for us fantastic seats at Club Tropicana, Taxis are reliable and fairly cheap from the hotel . Front of desk was OK, although was charged extra... more

We booked a room through Nash travel and were upgraded to a Suite. Which was very nice considering we had booked an agency rate which was way below the hotel’s regular rate? Si9nce we are members of SOL MELIA's MAS program, we could check in at the hotels VIP check in desk which is less busy. The room although outdated... more
