I chose the Four Seasons at Chinzan So for a 2 day business retreat for a Board. I wanted somewhere peaceful, with efficient service and "air to breathe" (i.e. meeting rooms with a view, spacious bedrooms, relaxing things to do after the meeting). I also wanted it to be close enough to Tokyo to allow the group - who were... more

I’ve spend three nights in this hotel, organized a business event as well. My overall opinion is that this place should be rated as excellent. It is not so conveniently positioned in terms of major shopping or business areas, but the subway is 10 minutes walk and after that nothing is a problem (taxis in Tokyo are actually not that... more

Stayed at the FS Chinzan-so for three nights on business. The location is not as convenient as some of the other big luxury properties in Tokyo (i.e. the Mandarin Oriental) but what you give up in ease-of-access is offset by the lovely gardens on-site. This time of year (June) you can even watch the fireflys that congregate around the stream... more

You don't stay at this hotel for glitz. Or for location. Or for over the top insane Japanese style. You stay here because you want somewhere quiet in the insanity that is Tokyo. The service at the Four Seasons is exceptional (would you expect anything else?) and the rooms are huge which is a luxury in a city where many... more

I stayed at the Four Seasons in November 2006 (a lovely time of year to visit Japan). The Four Seasons was very pricey, but we were able to use Amex points on the flight so felt we could splurge on the hotel. While the Four Seasons is a bit off the beaten path, I enjoyed the location... most of the... more

As I have previously written, I do appreciate the Four Seasons and Ritz as hotel chains. The Four Seasons Tokyo at Chinzan-so does not disappoint, and has a beautiful Japanese garden just outside. As with all Four Seasons, this property is extremely well kept, and the service level is high. Combine traditional Japanese service with Four Seasons and one should... more

Another great Four Seasons hotel. Service was excellent in the tradition of Four Seasons. Room was much bigger than I exxpected, bathroom was also amazingly sized. The one problem that I encountered while staying there was the thin walls can make some unneeded noise in the middle of the night, if you know what I mean. Otherwise, very good hotel... more

The Four Seasons at Chinzan-so is a hotel built into a stunning complex that features a beautiful Japanese garden. We were there last December, and the experience of staying there was one that I will not forget. The room was spacious (size-wise, on par with any 5-star Western hotel) and clean. The bathroom was opulent with a huge tub, separate... more

My husband and I stayed at the Four Seasons Chinzan-so during Christmas in 2002. (Sorry for submitting such an old review but we'd like to share our pleasant experience.) The hotel is a bit far from the city but its surroundings well made up for it. It is located in a historical Japanese garden, which is perfect for taking pictures.... more

My family stayed on property for Sakura 2007. We had an amazing garden view suite, which was large and comfortable. The service was impeccable. The gardens are breathtaking. While the hotel is a five minute walk to the train station, it is a lovely river walk. I never minded that a bit! We prefer the quiet after the intensity of... more
