We went to the Centeral Market on a recent trip to Costa Rica and LOVED it. It really helped us EXPERIENCE Tico (locals) life in a unique way. From little "sodas" (diners) to great deals on crafts and local artwork. My $5 leather sandals were a steal! more

If you're in San Jose and don't visit the Mercado Central, you're missing a piece of real daily Costa Rican life. As the name implies it's very centrally located and thus withing walking distance of almost any lodging near downtown San Jose.
