This jet boat ride was extremely average. The tour booklet said to allow an hour and a half, but the actual jet boat lasted no more than 20 mins, including stopping and starting. It just went up and back the same strip a couple of times because, quote "we can't go any further than this because another jet boat company... more
It was a great experience! The 360 degree spins just keeps your adrenaline rushing. We had a blast. Quite expensive but it was worth every minute you are in the jet. The drivers are very skilled and the experience is unforgettable. more
While in Queenstown you HAVE to do the Shotover Jet! Our driver, James, was so cool & he made us scream, even the men!! Very skilled drivers of these incredible jet boats that can operate in 10cm of water took us on the ride of our life through Shotover Canyon. We barely missed the rocks & tree stumps sticking out... more
All ages were on our Shotover Jet (apparently the oldest person who has ever been on one is in his 90s!). Really thrilling ride down the shotover river, going about 80kph. The drivers are really skilled, and you don't hit the rocks etc on either side of the river - but he takes you really close. You leave the boat... more
Highly recommended. Was lots of fun and I have to admit, a bit scary! Seemed expensive when we booked but was well worth the money. Even though we did the trip in December which is the middle of summer, it was absolutely freezing. I was the only one who wore a beanie (wool hat) and everyone was envious. I was... more
Just want to say that we had a great jet boat ride last week. The weather was raining on the day we initially went and so we had to re-schedule for the following day. The price is very expensive (NZ$356 for 2 adults & 2 children) for a 30 minute ride, but they do it well. There are plenty of... more
I went on the Shotover Jet during my visit to Queenstown, New Zealand in March 2007. The weather was beautiful that day, clear skies and sunny. The Shotover Jet is easy to get to, particularly if you're staying in town. There is a bus that goes every 15 to 20 mins from downtown Queenstown to the Shotover Boat launch. Once... more
Anyone who wants to be thrown around whilst strapped into a speed boat racing through the water will love this. It is really good fun but over way too fast. Just a shame you cant go for a longer streatch of the river. more
