Last week I went out on Poseidon who advertised a Minke Whale swim "if we see them." Fair enough. I have been on enough dive boats and expeditions to know that the animals show up when they do. I was quite a nervous first time snorkeller but had an amazing time! Before going to Port Douglas, I had been told the best place / company to sorkel with were Quicksilver at their specially built pontoon, which is enclosed and has things to do if you don't want to snorkel. We (four 55+ adults and two under 25's) had one of the most exciting experiences of our lives when we took a day-trip with Poseidon to Agincourt Reef to both dive and snorkel.
