I have been there twice now and both times the tour has been simple and well-conducted by a knowledgeable guide - none of the horrid earphones and "look left, look right" stuff. I went with my friend Natalia, who is not an Ibsen fan, and she came away loving the place. You get to see Ibsen's last apartment, including his study and writing desk, which has been preserved pretty much as he left it. (The other rooms are reconstructions.)
