At 7 euros, the National Archaeological Museum of Athens is an amazing bargain. What a superlative collection! We spent hours there, until we couldn’t take in any more, and still saw fewer than half the rooms. This is a truely superb museum, but beware - the bookshop is closed for renovation, and there are no plans yet alone guide books available. You can buy a museum guide in the bookshop at the entrance to the Acropolis, but this is not open at weekends. more
