Make sure to get a map at the tourist shop before beginning. Spend the extra money to get the one that shows all the stops along the way in detail. We got the overview one and missed some things we wanted to see. Be sure to start early, as this is an all day trip, could even be a two-day... more

We went on tour of Ireland in 2005 and one of my favorite spots was circling the Rings of Kerry.....We were in a tour bus and listening to Irish music playing as we bumped along the narrow roads. I loved all the greenery and sheep. It was such a pleasant experience. Would so love to go back some year, very... more

If you're visiting the Ring of Kerry don't bother to stop at Portmagee, especially if you are there to sample the Moorings bar! The Moorings has to have been one of the worst pubs I went to in Ireland; the staff are grumpy and rude, the food was awful and expensive! I ordered the Irish Stew, which was tasteless, and so... more

If you are driving the RING OF KERRY, I suggest you drive COUNTER-clockwise WITH the tour bus traffic. You don't want to have to SQUEEZE by these big ole busses! The first half of the RING (if starting around Killarney) is pretty, but doesn't have the SPECTACULAR ocean views that the last half does. It's still worth the drive though! more

I would like everyone to visit the ring of Kerry if not independantly then go with a tour, me, I would suggest going it alone that way you can stop at your own pace and take in the views for as long as you like. My own favourites were the Ladies view, mcgillicuddy reeks,Gap of Dunloe and the view of Dingle,... more

Went down to the ring of Kerry on a weekend in August, I was last there 6 years ago and it was misty the whole time I was there so I wasn't expecting much. I was wrong, while on Friday and Saturday the weather was awful, Sunday and Monday were amazing. We got to tour all around, even got the... more

It's possible to see the Ring of Kerry in a day (and hundreds do every day by bus) but to really appreciate it, you need to take at least 2 days and get off the main roads, particularly on the western end. Some of the most spectacular scenery is found along the coast between Portmagee and Ballinskelligs, places most tours... more

IRELAND’S RING OF KERRY We had set aside the whole day to travel the 110-mile Ring of Kerry, a scenic journey around the Iveragh Peninsula in Ireland. Our journey took us through remote and secluded areas, many seemingly untouched by the passing of time. Despite clouds and rain, our travel provided us spectacular beauty and insight into Irish heritage. We... more
